Crazy weather here...

Joe G

New member
I've lost count, but I think it's rained every day(at least once) 23 out of the last 28 days here. Needless to say, it's been a while since I've gotten out to MD. Rain all this weekend again. Haven't even hit the beach yet this month! I was going to go about two weeks ago, but decided to stay home and relax. Turned out the storm the day before resulted in some heavy beach erosion and I missed a good opportunity :) Oh well.

With the bad weather, work has been the slowest I've seen in years. Lots of layoffs next week. Hopefully, it'll pick up before July 4th weekend.

Sure sounds crazy to me. We didn't have the spring rains like we used to have either and only a few days of rain. Down-state Lansing had a severe storm but we were with family and didn't notice it that much. Sorry to hear of the layoffs...will pray for those affected.

I still have a theory that when the earthquake that caused sunamis back a few years ago and rocked the earth off its axis, moved the earth off the axis more than scientists are telling. It is either that or God is trying to wake people up that they need to come back to Him. Or both?

Good to hear from you Joe. Miss seeing your posts...then again I don't get here everyday like I used to either so might miss some of your posts because we are like ships passing in the ocean at night. God bless you and Vicky. Hope and pray all is well with you both.

lack of rain always. The ground is hard to dig, but we have no humidity so that's good. Hope you get out soon, steve in so az

I can sure relate to what you're saying. Up until the first of last week, that's the way it was here. Rained for days, and days, and days, and DAYS!!!!! Rained almost every single day in May, then about every other day (or more) through the first of June. Now, with the exception of an occasional summertime storm or a quick moving front barreling through, there appears to be no rain in sight for the past week or in the long range forecast. Looks like we're now having the typical summertime weather here in Alabama. Here at my house, according to our thermometer, it's 97 degrees out there and the humidity is very high. You can be outside for about 30 seconds and become soaked in sweat, mainly because of the humidity. The weather man says our heat index will be 105 - 107 today. It stinks! I don't like summer - AT ALL! I'm a winter weather gal, for sure! Of course our winters usually aren't bad unless we have a blast from the North that sweeps through here for a short period of time.

Good to see ya. We have had more rain than usual here too. Not as much as you thank God! :)

Been raining off and on here too! Storms all around us but so far no damages to our area. I read where New York is rec an unusual amount of rain and we've had plenty as yet, but very hot and humid! The heat index has hit over 100 because of the humidity! I perspire (sweat) easily and stay very wet most of the time, especially when working in or out of the home! Have to stay inside most of the time though! Cliff went out and sat on the Patio to get warm and get some sunshine, he gets cold very easily from his poor blood and oxygen circulation! His feet and legs swell to a strut until they hurt him, but he doesn't complain too much...just a little when he's feeling really badly! Gotta take him to the lab for his blood test because of the new med. They have to keep his liver checked! Hope you get out soon to detect the seashore and ocean cuts and find some really nice goodies, Joe, and I hope you and Vicky are well and doing great otherwise! Andres has just appeared on the scene and is the first tropical storm working its way into a hurricane.....it just might stir up a few things! :) God Bless! Betty
