Creek hunt close to union camp.

Well-known member
Here are the finds from a four hour creek hunt close to a union camp. All the twenty two bullets I know are not civil war but were all found in a hole under a riffle along with a few civil war bullets. One bullet is a pulled one that looks like some of it was cut off after it was pulled. My favorite find is the civil war pencil made by a soldier, if only that thing could tell me what it has wrote. Thes bullets must have been in the creek a while because there is no patina on them.

Hay Travis..Very nice finds. Most people would not know that the led stick was used for a pencil. Fact is I found several before I knew what they were. How's the 18.75 coil doing that you bought from me? HH TomB

It is doing great Tom. That is what has been on my detector since I got it. No kidding I dug a bullet at a little over 12 inches the other day. I had it on video on my phone , but was playing around with it showing everybody and accidently erased it. The ground was gb at about 55 when I dug it. Forgot to say the bullet was a 69 caliber though that helped me get the depth on it.

Nice finds. I wouldn't have known what the "pencil" was, had you not told us. Thanks for sharing. HH Randy
