I made a picture of a small OO type working coil for my G2 with small wire.
Its the easy-est VLF coil to null and adjust that I have made so-far.Also a
picture of Soverign Pre-amp. I use public libary, dont know how to post it on
Forum. Will try,if not I might need your E-mail address

I am not sure what you ask in the E-mail.
The upper picture is small OO type coil with small wire.to see how it will work and
keep down bulkey size of coil,it worked fine.You can see thers no shield,its opean you
can see both coils where they overlap tuning and null gap.OO coil is very easy to null.
Rember I am not trained in electronic, I just tinker. I have found out that you can make any
coil with restance of a stock mamufactured coil and number of coil turns.
In the future I think that I might need to get a inductance meter and learn how to use it.
OO type ,DD and figure 8 coils to me are the easest VLF coils to make.as you can see
I test my coils on templet to see if and how they work.I have yet to complety finish and put
a coil in a plastic frame. I am just tinkering. When I get a super coil I might finish it.
The other picture is a old Soverign BBS pre-amp and wire with connector.You said that
you wonted to make a small soverign coil.OO coil might do what you wont.it has good dept
easy to make and tune,if you wont more dept make both O coils in a egg shape,its then a
DD coil.I dont have the print on soverign pre-amp if you find one hold on to it.I forgot where to
connect TX and RX wires.I hope this helped
PS if you make a pre-amp use a soldering gun with a ground.

Frank, you had shot me an Email with that picture with no remarks before I saw you had posted the info in this thread here, so I didn't know what the picture was showing info wise and had some questions, but now I see the info here as to what the picture was about, so thanks for posting it.

I have a schematic for both the old and new new style pre-amps. I just posted those in the Sovereign forum a few weeks back for somebody trying to figure out which pins go to which wires on a coil, so if anybody needs both pre-amps search for it there. Might try "color, wires, pins, or schematic" ANY WORDS 1 YEAR SEARCH or something and it should pop up under I think a thread about the Ultimate coil.

Critterhunter,The picture that I sent to you with out writeing.I use public libary. I did not know how
to post it.The libary-an posted the picture,I was lucky to get it sent.
Thanks for the Sov-pre-amp.you said that there were 2. I found 1.I will go back to see if I con find the other one.
I have been tinkering with a coplanar coil for my G2 detector.Just got a brake .have been useing formular that bucking coil
is 4 times smaller than TX,and so-on it worked with poor dept.The Kee is number of turns of wire in RX,dont go lower than 3.5 ohms Rx coil.
Make bucking coil same amount of turns as RX pluss 10 more turns.Tx coil will work 15 to 40 ohms.To null add more turns to bucking coil.
On first coplanar I made 8''coil,poor dept.nickel at 2" silver dollar about 3". Now with my formular same 8" coil,US nickel 8-1/4"
silver dollar 14". This might work for a Soverign coil,On a Sov-coil I will need RX ohms of a stock Sov-coil,number of turns I can come up
with.It will make a good summer or winter project.
