Crotarbell spill,Jetton, and a Roman dress pin with 10.5DD MF at the rolled fields of Bedford/UK.

First day out on the rolled fields I used the Xterra 705 with 10.5DD. This setup is really good and that coil is a nice overall finder.I only bring that coil and my brothers 5x10"DD to UK.
In my rental car the brand new Etrac had to wait for the maiden trip on the fields.

It was late afternoon or early evening, but Im not afraid of getting around in darkness, actually sometimes I welcome it.

I headed up on the hill and had a good signal not to deep.Found one crotar bell in nice condition.Happy with that I walked on and just a couple of yards another good signal came through. And another crotarbell was seeing the light.
Hmm...it couldnt possibly be more bells in the area...naa..but just like the second bell a nice signal rung in and a third crotar bell was recovered. A crotar bell spill.Must have come from one animal.

I stopped for a break and I could see a another detectorist going back to the car with his XP Deus.Toke my Canon and documented the man on the hill.

I went on searching, and on the other side of the hill in a very trashy area I found a copper coin or was it a token?.It looked old.And had some German letters on it.Happy with that I carried on.Light was falling and people started to get back to the camping.
Searched on and after a half an hour or so I had a small signal TID wise as well as sound. Didnt have to dig, just moved the dirt and there a greenish pin was laying open with no dirt on.I could see it was made of bronze due to the green colour.
Again I understod it was a nice sharp relic.Sharp as it was made yesterday. But when ID

WTG on the nice OLD finds.

I have always been a lil jealous of you guys across the water. You guys get to find the really old and cool stuff

Nice finds , like the pin. Was it an organised dig ?

Thanks!
Yes it was for Minelab people at Bedford, organizer was Two Jugs(Dave).Great week, warm and sunny, and dry, very dry...but I prefer that to rain even if people complained about dry conditions and bad signals.Well I had some good ones there though:)
The land we could detect was immense.Huuuuge rolled fields.I will go back next year for sure.Even if it was space between finds.

The pin is just so sharp I cant believe it.After such a long time in the ground.

How are you getting along with the Bliss?

Mike

Not used it yet, too busy on the beach and no land of my own right now. Cant afford the digs either , they are too far away and the cost of fuel is a q!55 take here. Will use it one day LOL

Yeah I know!
Paid 70 quid for the week, but compare that to the tickets for a Saga concert in Stockholm I just paid. That set me back just 70 quid for a couple of hours of entertainment...but then again, its Saga:yo:
Hey Nuke! This year must be fantastic for ya,reading your beach finds.Your a killer on the beach.

Look forward to the Bliss. When it arrive.Have some pasture I would like to hunt low and deep.

Mike

Getting much more difficult now and wish for a SE storm to hit , there is plenty there but just cant get at it. And am wondering where all the gold is ? finding silver lately but not the gold :(

Richard

Yes I do understand what you mean!
I was in Denmark in may, worked some great beaches but found just a few krona.Nothing??!!...You need a good storm to release those deep targets.
Was on a beach in Sweden just after a storm and finds were laying on top of the sand.Didnt needed a detector there:)
