So I hear what I think is yelling while detecting in the woods yesterday. I take my headphones off and sure enough it's Chris, way down over the hill. I yelled back "What?" and I hear him yell "I got my first belt plate!" (he's been wanting a belt plate so badly.) We were hunting an area near what's left of a homesite in thick, tic infested woods. I'm walking down the hill and he's walking up the hill holding this plate up, it looks to be rectangular and I can see an S on it. I said, "Is that a CS plate?" He said, "No, it's US." Well, what it is is the lead backing to a US plate. The US is perfect and it looks just like a plate until you start brushing the dirt off and see there's no brass skin on it and the edges have been clipped in spots. Anyway, beats a jab in the eye with a sharp stick, and he was pumped. We ended up with a few bullets and he got a belt retainer.
