:csflag: Looking for the old house site...

My friend Chris had permission to hunt a new place that had an old stone foundation. When we got there the farmer wasn't home, and all he had told Chris was that there was stone foundation down near the end of his property. We had never been here before so we didn't know how far the end of the property was. Above is a satellite map of the farmer's land; the yellow line is me walking, and the red line is Chris walking as we search for the stone foundation. After walking about a mile I finally started getting some iron and started digging house site stuff; (where the black arrow is). Heavy irons that you used to heat on a wood stove to iron clothes, plow points, horse tack, etc. Chris met up with me and we dug for about two hours, targets everywhere. There's at least 3 days digging here at this house site. Click on photo's to enlarge/

Above I found this silver plated thing that I first thought was half of a woman's sash buckle, but then noticed the hole on each side so I think it's some sort of ornament. Below is a brass buckle.

We couldn't see the foundation because a huge mulberry tree had split down the middle and actually laid down on both sides, still alive, covering the foundation completely. This is, I believe, part of the chimney. Last photo is some other various finds at the site. We will return to this when the ground is wet.
