Just ran across this at this link. Here's what it read... Notice what I marked in red...

"Plain, Extremely Rare, Tall Loop C.S. Artillery Buckle. Price; $2995. In Mullinax's book, Plate 068 on page 45. Quote from book, "Cast copy of a rare 1849 Mounted Rifleman's Plate (only 1000 made) with letters "U.S." removed prior to making an impression in the sand mold.". Also, " A small quantity was made early in the War by an unknown southern shop. and later with the letters "C.S." added to the tongue.". Rarity 8+. These two pieces are a "Marraige" The tongue was found in Richmond, Va., and the Wreath in Winchester, Va. This Wreath will also fit Plate 066 & 067 in Mullinax's book. So if you had an example with "C.S. on the tongue, well you could match it with this Wreath for a $10,000. Buckle .The Wreath alone is worth what I am asking for the pair."
Gee... I just happen to have one
