CTX 3030 makes the XP Deus go crazy

Went hunting with a friend today and as soon as I turned the Deus on it went crazy. Have never had this problem before so just assumed that I was in an area with bad EMI. Changed frequencies, lowered sensitivity, all to no avail. As soon as I moved about 15 ft away from my friend with the CTX things quieted down. Seems like the CTX uses all of the same frequencies as the Deus. Has anyone else had this problem? Never had this problem with my F70.

FBS machines run primarily in the lower frequencies which is one of the reasons they are so adept at finding deep silver when coupled with their superior audio traits. I found the same thing when trying to test the Deus against the etrac and CTX on in ground undug targets when I had the Deus in 4 khz. The interference subsided rapidly with a change to a higher and higher frequency as well as putting some distance between them

i have hunted with a guy with a etrac and 2 ctx3030 all at the same time with no issues at all. i check all the ctx holes to see.if i can.get a signal. weird issue u having

Its not unusual for the FBS machines from Aussie land to cause problems like this and also as has been mentioned mobile phones when roaming can also cause the same problems, you could try adjusting to another freq, the mobile phone problem is often over looked.

I read somewhere to just change frequency. But if that is the frequency you like and need for that soil condition I guess try to separate yourself from the other machine as far as possible.

Sounds normal to me. I have seen times when you dont think you are getting interference from another detector but you are losing depth. Best thing to do is always stay 20 feet away from another machine.
