Ctx beach finds

These were found on a popular Florida beach. I have some coins to post as well. I did find some wheat pennies. I was surprised about that. I thought they would have been found along time ago but I guess anything is possible. Some of the items I know what they are and some I dont. Why would anyone have a uncut key on the beach??? Besides the 10k gold cross and some small silver rings, silver earring(crusted) silver heart and silver bead, the only other piece of nice jewelry was a 14kt wedding band that I returned to the owner on the beach(other forum).

The second pic is of what I thought was possibly a spanish reale but after some "cleaning" it is taking some shape. I see some kind of "letters" on the face but I think it is more likely a cross. Any ideas?

Third pic is some interesting buttons. One has US on it and United States on the back. The other has the word "honor" on the face.

Nice finds. I like the U.S. button, looks very old and in good condition too. Hope someone here can identify the button.

Thanks! I am pretty sure someone can. Heres some more shots.

Found info on your US button. It's a federal general service or militia button from the 1820s to the 1840s. Great find and in fantastic condition.

Also found the U.S. Button Co. made buttons in 1837. That may be the reason for the UNITED STATES backmark. Don't know where they were located.

Floyd.....your always so good at finding stuff! Geez, if what your saying its true...which Im sure it is.....then these are my OLDEST finds to date. I did get lucky on the beach!

Thanks so much...I owe you another one!

Nice finds! Sure wish I had a beach near by to hunt! Well when it gets warmer of course! Been under 30 for the past 2 months!

At least you are getting out having a good time. Keep the stories coming... Gives us something to read... KEN

that is an awesome cross. I bet you were excited to see that yellow come out of the sand :detecting:

Yes it was....kind of shocking . I was not quite awake as it was first thing in the morning hunt. People on the beach where really looking at it and knew I had something good!

On another note(above pic 2) the heavily crusted "reale or cross" turned out to a zipper piece....from Italy but think it worthless. It was fun hoping. I will post a pic later.
