I AM STAYING UP HAMPTON FRI TO SAT AFTER NOON. I HAVE BEEN HITTING LAKES THE LAST 2 WEEKS SLIM ON GOLD BUT LOTS OF SILVER!! I MAY TRY A COUPLE SPOTS ON HAMPTON BUT MOST LIKELY HEAD NORTH OR SOUTH OF HAMPTON. I GOT A NICE COIN BY EYE THIS WEEK IN A FRESH TURNED FIELD,A 1821 8 REALE ITS THE MOST COMMON DATE THERE IS.STILL KINDA NEAT,ONLY WORTH AROUND $20.00. GOOD LUCK IF YOUR UP THERE MAYBE ILL SEE YA!

I spent all of last week "entertaining" my family who came for a visit, so no real time to go detecting.

I've been checking one of the live webcams at Hampton and although it's impossible to see any real detail, it doesn't look like there's been too much change since I was there last - and that was a wasted hour or so.

I might head up that way this weekend - I have some other places I'd like to try (couple lakes, some old swimming holes and streams, etc...) - unfortunately I'm also going to have some honey-do's to get done too, so I have to try to make the most of my time.

Grats on the Reale - it may only be worth $20, but where there's one there's usually more stuff :).

With harvest season here, I'm going to be doing a little driving around my home area and see if I can get enough guts to go ask one of them old-timer farmers if I can spend some time in his field. I figure if I'm friendly and polite I might also be able to convince him that I'll be doing him a little bit of a favor too by pulling all the iron junk and other assorted crap I find out of his field as well.

Good luck if I don't run across you - if the beaches look good on webcam I might try to hit a late night or early morning low tide and check out a couple spots on Salisbury.

Looking forward to a good fall storm sometime!!

Beach Hunter, do you hunt everyday? Wish I sure could. Only have the weekends to hunt? What is your gear for hunting lakes as they are cold as well and no tide changes. Wet suit? Dry suit? Waders? Just curious

I got stuck doing a zillion honey-do's!!! My payoff for getting all that crap done today is that I'm heading out very early tomorrow AM for the low tide there.

Did you get a chance to see what Salisbury was like as well?

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll let you know how I did tomorrow sometime.

but thanks for letting me know - I'll just concentrate on Hampton. Might even take a quick run up to Rye as well.

Not sure when I'll get there tomorrow - I'm thinking along the lines of 4am or so, but we'll see how I feel when I get up.

Probably see you there.

Thanks for the help and suggestion Beach Hunter. Wish I was around last night. Went south for the evening. Tried Plymouth Beach, MA, and man did it suck.
