Curious about the MXT Pro's depth...?

Hey guy's. Just bought a Fisher F75 LTD but not sure if it's the machine for me and my Ga. red clay yet! I KNOW it's deep (So was my 6000 DI Pro SL) but it's a real chatter box! I've been reading a lot 'bout the MXT Pro & was wondering what kinda depth I might get with this machine?? I DON'T like that GIANT coil so I would be using a smaller one if I went with this unit. ALL opinions & responses are welcome!! Thanks! :pulltab:

[size=large]as per the science the bigger the coil the deeper ya go. the catch is you go real deep in texas with one coil but it's not as good in georgia.
i have very minerlized soil here in s.w. washington. my 5.3 coil gets at least 6". thats in moist soil and moderate trash. my d2 ( 10.5 dd) gets at least 8" so far. that's been the deepest target i've dug with it. got the same with my 8x6 sef coil on my minelab. don't know how deep they all will go as thats all the targets i've dug with them.if the targets were deeper then i would have given deeper numbers.so the target sets the depth. as well as the soil content sets your ability to find it. only those using the machines in your area can tell you what works and how well.hope ya find your dream machine soon. summer's almost here.

I won't get into the depth issue especially since I have no experience or practical knowledge in your type of soil. I do want to say that, if "chattiness" was an issue for you with the Fisher then I would definitely look to try out the MXT Pro first before you buy it if you can . . .they can be quite "talkative" also.

The MXT PRO is a threshold based detector so your going to have that as a background,My MXT PRO is as deep as the 2 F75's I've had and a lot less noisy. It ID's targets more consistently than the F75.I told the dealer I wanted to swap the big coil for the D2 10 inch DD coil, which he did.It has excellent depth and seperates well.It works great in some of the mineralized areas I hunt.Bill

Thanks guy's! I've been a White's guy since the 70's & personally I love a threshold (Very used to it) I have heard about the "chattyness" of the MXT Pro but I think I'll be able to handle that much better than the ridiculous noise of the F75 in my dirt. I guess I was asking what kinda depth are YOU getting with your machines?? I know that is a relative question with many factors but if I only hear 6" or 8" consistently, I may look in another direction. My old 6000 Di Pro SL would properly ID a Wheatie at almost 10" I just hope those days aren't over!? :pulltab:
