I know it might look odd but that thing will spoil you, much easier to thumb up while hunting. Very well made. I should have bought several at that time. And yes thats a big honking gold ring my wife found with a Cutlass a couple of seasons ago.

My El Dorado with bigger disc. knob

Hi campnagle ! :)

Did you intend to upload a separate photo of your El Dorado with bigger disc. knob ? All I see is the photo of your gold ring and what appears to be a second ring of some other metal to the right of the gold ring. The reason I say this is because when I clicked-on the "Reply with quote" post screen, a url string was displayed.

Anyway, Radio Shack has a nice selection of knobs of different sizes and colors. These knobs all appear to fasten-on via a brass set screw and are low cost. I bought the one with the blue end for my Harbor Freight Cen-Tech pin-pointer and have been very satisfied with it. Google "Radio Shack" and then when you get on their web page, just enter "Knobs" in the search window, top-right.

Good Luck finding what you want.

I like the idea of the larger knob, however I think I'd prefer one just a bit smaller.

harvdog42 is his user name. He made some of those knobs a while back. Don't know if he is interested in making anymore; or maybe he even has one or two left over, I just don't know. May not hurt to send him a PM and ask.

He wrote a book titled "Machine Shop Trade Secrets" that has some very useful ideas.

Last post I saw from him was a little under a year ago.
Cheers,

My El Dorado with bigger disc. knob

campnagle,

After seeing the knob modification I made my own. Lighter & with a small rivit to make rotation easier. Being able to swing (I'm right handed) & operate the DISC with my thumb left my other hand free.

I'd posted about it on the Modification forum earlyer 2012.............Put it on my Vaquero. I'd seen your original picture (before) but I'd never seen who had made them.

I even incorperated a groove for an o'ring so I was able to adjust the drag.
