custom water proof

it scares me! I would hate for you to get a leak and lose a machine!
I hope it never leaks, and an A+ to you for your skills! :)

I wouldn't use it under water. I am guessing that is why 'underwater' detectors were made...to be 'waterproof'. Given how much you spent to create a 'wet suit' for your detector compared to how much a metal detector manufacturer spent...well, if it was me I'd take the stuff off the detector, go buy a good used underwater detector and have 2 good detectors...otherwise ya might wind up with one unuseable and soaked detector.

Just my humble opinion.

..I had a Garrett cx3 a few years ago-I was detecting in the wet;wasnt payin attention to the waves-a wave washed over the box-END RESULT??:sad:Well over$100.00 to get it fixed-NOT covered under warranty....My Advice??Get a wet detector-Thats what I did after I learned my lesson with the Garrett.I now have a Fisher 1280x for the wet...TOTALLY waterproof to 250 feet!!!

you may find one at a good price. I have a water detector for sale...a Tesoro Stingray. It is an older unit. A little history there was the Stingray then the Stingray 2 and now the Tigershark. Other than a warranty and the capability to change coils I had heard the Stingray is as good as the new Tigersharks. And they are hot on small gold items.

I bought 2. One was on eBay and got it for less than I paid for the first one (otherwise I would not have bought it). I paid $375 for the first one. So you should be able to find a good water detector in the $350 ball park - less if you are lucky and sometimes dealers will let you trade up detectors and save even more money.

I have 2 people already asking to buy the one I have for sale. So waiting to hear back from them. Good luck with finding a good used and less expensive water detector Toby. They are out there.

if you are shooting for rain proof it might just work? But under water proof is another story. When it is under water it will be under pressure. The water will be seeking to get in.
