Hi All, I have been looking at the CZ line of detectors, OK i have bee told that all CZ, CZ3D, CZ7A PRO, CZ5, All have the same depth to with in a 1" of each other, just some have little defiance controls. Dose anyone know for sure? I don,t want to pay $800.00 for almost the same thing for $300.00 or so. Thanks any help would be grate. Dean

Using every CZ model ever made since 92 properly tuned and with a good nut behind the wheel a truism...Again must emphasize there are hot and cold ones and some of your older models bought used might need a tuneup. For what its worth even some of the cold ones coil for coil are deeper or as deep as most major brands.

Thanks Dan-Pa, I got a good deal on a CZ7A, Not the PRO Can you give me some ideal how to set it to go deep? Hope i can get the hang of it before it gets to cold to dig. Thanks Dean

I think you made a good choice, I have been using the CZ5 and my brother has been using the CZ7A pro for a number of years. I just recently upgraded (??) to the new F75 LTD. I have been doing a lot of comparing in my test garden and so far the CZs are keeping up with the new f75.

No magic setup on your machine for depth, just do a good ground balance, select your mode of search, run the sensitivity as high as you can with out going over board (to high you will get a lot of noise), wear some type of head phones, and proper sweep of the coil. You should be good to go, good luck....Ron

PS, when you get the hang of that new machine, I highly recommend trying the small 5" coil if you are coin hunting. You don't really loose that much depth and it really gets between the trash to locate those coins others have went over. I did a test in the park back a month or so ago, I grided off a section that took me a couple of hours to work with the large coil, didn't find a single coin. I went back the next day with the little coil and worked the same area and found 5 pennies. Nothing good just pennies, but these were not surface coins I had to dig a little for each.

It will really surprise you as to how deep and hw small a target it will detect.

The deppest detection will be using the auto tune mode.
It air checks a nickle at least 2" deeper than discriminate and even deeper than the pinpoint will detect.

The CZ-7A you got is a good detector ... get out and use it.

Here are two rings that a school area near me has produced in the last two days with a 5" coil.
That small one was down 8" in the dirt.
Also recovered a handful of dimes, nickles, and pennies.
No quarters ... strange.
