CZ3D and a deep buckle

Bill_S

Well-known member
I have a newer Tom tuned CZ3D that is deep and accurate. I dug this deep buckle and the wheat penny and buffalo nickels recently. Just goes to show that even the newer ones can be good too......;o)

My very first CZ3d was a later Texas unit. I dug a medal at almost deeper than my elbow in a grassy area. I gave up three times before I finally got it out of the ground. It was a great, unmistakeable good signal. It got stronger and stronger but at that depth I was going to quit. So glad I talked myself into going back and finishing the dig. One of my favorite finds and it had to be at 15 to 17 inches deep. I have only had that happen once but never felt like I had a depth problem. Congrats on listening and believing your machine.

Don

Get used to it it's going to happen a lot. I found this out with mine also.

Great finds Bill! I have always loved the CZ's and still use my CZ70PRO. They definitely go deep. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos on YouTube. Hope you haven't stopped doing them.
Greg

I have mostly been water hunting this summer so I haven't done many videos. I will make some more videos now that the weather is cooling down. Still need some rain to soften up the ground some.

Good stuff, Bill, nice job.

I'm not much of a video watcher so I haven't watched your vids, but I enjoy your pics.

From the certified numbers I've seen, the newer cz-3ds are on average not as hot as the Los Banos ones. But I've seen some that are and it looks like you've got a good one. If you don't mind me asking, what depth did Tom certify yours at?

Glad to hear you will be doing some more videos. Definitely my favorite ones to watch on YouTube and I appreciate that you take the time to film the ID numbers and full digs. We are having the same problem here in TN with the hard ground. Hard digging even with the Raptor! How have you liked hunting with the AT Pro in the water?
Greg

Glad to hear you like it as I have been thinking about buying an AT Pro or Gold to water hunt here as well. I know you have a lot of experience with your Etrac and the 3030 and I've been wanting to ask you your opinion on buying a Minelab Etrac versus the CTX 3030. Do you think the 3030 is worth the extra money over the Etrac? Which one would you buy? It will be primarily used for coinshooting. Thanks in advance. Look forward to seeing what you have found in the water.
Greg

If you send me a pm I will try and answer your question. I guess I don't want to get too far off base in the CZ forum......;o)

I understand. It seems I am too new a member or do not have enough posts so the PM option does not appear to be available to me. I will try and find one of your old comments in the Minelab section and ask you through there.
Greg

Thanks Bill. I found an older post you had made in the Minelab forum and posted the question there. Hopefully that worked.

It's obviously doing the job finding the deep stuff for you, Bill.

I don't understand what you're saying when you say you were told when you bought it.

To the best of my knowledge, and with the units I've had certified, Tom sends an email report of all tuning he corrects and depth. He also puts a sticker on the unit with the certified depth.

So if it's a Tom Dankowski tuned detector, it should have a small sticker with the unit s/n, depth, and Tom's signature.

The person I bought it from advertised it as being certified to 11". it does have the small sticker and report. I just cant find the report. I will have to look at the sticker and find the report.

If its deep and working for you, that's what matters.

If you decide to sell down the road, the sticker and report will help you get a better price.

Some of Tom's earlier detectors that he calibrated and validated did not have the depth written on the sticker. I have had a couple in the past that only had the date and his signature. I corresponded with Tom with the serial number and he verified that he indeed calibrated and validated the ones I had. He gave me the specific info on those particular detectors and had records of the depth. He tries to keep all the records of the CZ's he has checked...John
