CZ5

Just bought a mint CZ5 yesterday and man I like this thing so far. Wanted to know if anyone has ever used or uses one for hunting relics?

It does well hunting relics. Got to keep the sweep speed a bit lower than some other detectors that you may use. Picture is of a couple of shells I found at the beach with the CZ6A; with a quarter thrown in to show size.
Cheers,

Smokey63,

You have a great detector in your new CZ5....deep and the meter is accurate.
Invest in the 5 inch coil for it...it's as deep as the stock coil and will really pick through the trash for deep coins and jewelry.

I run my CZ5 at zero disc and volume set at 10 all the time. Zero disc will help you not getting fooled by deep square nails.
It is a tad heavy, but hip mounting or chest mounting it will let you swing the big 10 1/2" coil all day long with no problems.

I'm not a relic hunter, but i see no reason it wouldn't excel at that also. Keep the sweep speed slow and you will be amazed at the depth you will be digging coins at.
Good luck with your CZ5 and if you have questions feel free to ask, I will help you if I can.........

Thanks for the replies. I am liking it more and more.

Congrats on getting a CZ5. The CZ's are deep and are super at finding silvers. I used one for 13 years and still have it. Pick up a 5" and a 10.5. Very good nickel machine also. Works great for relic hunting too.

Love the CZ's. You can get a chest mount for the controls, or do like I do, & get a tool belt that has a big pocket for it. Other pocket for trash, etc. Cut a slit & run the cord out the bottom. Reduces a lot of weight on your arm & shoulder. DITTO- on getting the other coils. 5" is handy for relics in trashy areas,,, 10" for beaches.

Great machine for minnie balls. Loves lead also loves nails. I have four of them so I think there good.

Thanks for the replies.
