CZ6 8" coil cracked, looking for replacement

Hello all,

First post here...thought this may be a good place to look....amongst other Fisher users.

I just picked up a CZ6 to compliment my CZ5 and although the CZ6 is in overall good condition there is a crack around one of the mounting ears. It seems to work fine but obviously I need to prevent the crack from getting any bigger and waterproof it as best I can. These 4 prong CZ6 coils must be like hens teeth as I can't find one anywhere. If anyone has an old one laying around let me know. Other than that I look forward to getting to know some of you, and after I explore the site a little bit I'm sure I'll find an appropriate area to introduce myself.

Any suggestions on a repair that would be waterproof?

Hey Metal depending on size of crack only thing I would know of is some type of epoxy or a type of rubberized caulk like Lexal etc.. I am sure some of these forum members will chime on how to fix it good luck joe

Look at JB WELD. Works for everything. I patched a 10" long crack and filled in a chicken egg size hole in a truck radiator with that stuff and it held that radiator for over a year. I am a fan of JB Weld. :please:

Mike

Thanks for the JB weld testimonial Mike. If it can hold pressure on a radiator I'm sure it could keep water out of a coil.

A needle in a haystack....scarcer than hens teeth....the 4 pin CZ6 coil. Believe it or not I found one on ebay. It was listed as a coil for the 1200X series 10.5", but when I saw the coil cable connector I knew it was for the CZ6. Great seller, shipped it from CA to FL in 3 days! Works great and he even threw in a cover. Now at least I have a backup if the 8" ever leaks.
