CZ70 Trouble

Not sure about this CZ70 thing. I have had this for 2 years and everytime I go to the beach it works great except for when I try to go in the water about 6" it go crazy. I have ajusted the Senz down to 2 and it still beeps like crazy. Is this normal? If not what can I do to fix this. Also is the CZ20 better for the beach. I'm not looking to go diving just want to get in the water about a foot or so. I may try the Explorer XS but I would hate to give up my CZ70 if the proble can be fixed. Also I live in North Florida. Sounds like one of two things.
1.A small crack in the coil that water is seeping into/through or..
2.If you are using a coil cover, there maybe some sand or dirt inside of the coil cover.

I am sure you have switched to salt mode, so that is not the problem. My CZ70 does a lot of chatter if I am in very shallow salt water and the coil is in and out of the water with a lot of sand movement due to the tide. Once I get into deeper water, it quiets down. Not sure this will help.

After this weekend, I have to agree that the cz70 is such a great beach machine.
I had the opportunity to hit the beach (mid winter here in Australia, btw, so the pickings you would think should be slim) for the first time with my cz70 and wow I can safely say that if my wife would let me and the need for working wasn't high on my list of things to do in life, I'd be at the beach every bloody day. <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">
I was able to crank up the sensitivity to 8 while in Auto/Normal mode for the dry sand and even in Salt mode for the wet sand, I didn't need to drop the sensitivity down below 6 (some falsing is acceptable in my book so at least I know my detector is alive :>) I have to even walk with my scoop behind me to stop setting off the detector it is that sensitive. :>
The take...one silver billabong ring (fits very well), about AUD 15 in coinage and several knick knacks to add to the box. I was surprised how sensitive this thing is...I dug up several rusty what look to be like needles or hooks at about 10 inches. I knew they were most likely junk but at that depth I don't mind checking what is there esp when the sand is so easy to work with a scoop.
As for junk, during the summer months, they shave the beaches here but in the winter they are pretty much left to the elements. There is a cult of detectorists down there on the Coast so I never expect to find much on my limited trips there so the take was all that much sweeter esp considering the season. Besides, winter time is so much easier to work the beaches even here in Australia. Less ppl to ask if I've found anything good, the occasional bum wanting a cigarette or change for some hooch (aka their meal) or those all night revellers passed out on the beach and the officers who show up to make sure they ain't doped up or dead.
