Day #92 or hunt #92 this summer with the F70

Sorry, said I was hunting 6 days this week on post #91. Now I have finished the 6th day this week. Old dead eye left the detector on and batteries were dead this morning. First time that ever happened. So I had to put the 6th set of batteries in this morning. Hit a couple of grade schools and picked up a nice number of coins. Got another wheat 1957. Had a dime that I thought was silver but when cleaned a bit it turned out to be a 1965. I have picked up 2016 coins so far this summer. I am using the 6.5" coil with Sens@60, Thres@-3, Disc@20 and Tones@4H. The F70 is really a great coin machine. Thanks for looking and Happy Trails....Z:detecting:

Looks like you've been doing good this summer Z....I've been following your tread, appreciate your settings. Been doing water hunting lately so haven't used my F70 that much, been giving my Excal a workout. Good luck on your hunts and keep up the good work. HH John

Thanks John. I have tried water hunting a number of times but I get sea sick when the waves come and hit me. Boy that up and down motion of the water just gets to me. Even got a wet suit a water detector and a big scoop but couldn't do it. Old dead eye here had trouble finding the target also. It just walked away from me, if that isn't frustrating! The life guards were getting mad at me also because my holes were so big that they had to rescue swimmers from them.
The F70 is so easy, light, flexible and reliable. I am just a coin hunter and find old coins, jewelry by accident. I am not able to bend down and dig up targets so I use a long handled scoop to do my bending. I really can't go into parks and dig so I am stuck with digging in sand and wood chips. I do not want to dig those deep targets but on occasion I have done that also. Most of my coins are about 1" to 5". I call them one scoopers. The F70 and I have dug over 5,000 coins, part of last summer when I got the F70 and this summer. Of course I get out a lot so if I was younger I would probably have dug twice that. I also have been known to talk to someone more than detect on some hunts. It is just a hobby and exercise for me. My wife loves it because I am not home. I have been retired for 10 years and metal detecting is my hobby and joy. I enjoy the hunt. Enough! Thanks John and Happy Trails....Z
