Day two in the trash.. with the Whites MX SPORT

Cool find.. off the wall question..
Do think the MX sport will work in salt water...

Question ? the place i was hunting is very heavy with iron a old cans and about anything you can think of ..but the Sport keeps hitting a good signal going one way a lot and then coming back it is gone.... Is it the big iron making it do it? It would do it in any program.

Darryl,

Pretty sure the MX Sport can't handle our West Coast ocean wet sand, but ocean dry Beach sand should do well.

Nice Curtis!

Off to a great start!

Congrats!

I have the sport as well. Mine gets a good tone one way on iron, been running my sens as 5 or it seems to be really chatty, I've probly dug 500 targets with it already, if it's a one way tone it seems to almost certainly be junk, a good two way tone with fairly stable vdi is what were gonna look for. One thing is for sure, that sucker goes deep when you crank it up. I think it's probly deeper than the v3i and the mxt pro in my soil, but in the heavy iron the v3i may get the edge. But it's still early and we have to learn it.

Don't think the MX Sport will replace a good pi or xcal machine but it does work in salt water pretty good. Just have to lower the sensitivity, 4 - 5 and check ground balance every now and then. It tracks well but will change while you dig if you don't lock tracking. SO far I have only tried Beach and All Metal with salt added in. Going to play around with some of the other programs also and see what happens.
