DE 280 battery cartridges

I have an Old DB280 that was my grandfather's after my grandmother passed away I was cleaning out the house and founde it. The battery cartridges are mest up and I was wondering if there is a way to get replacement cartridges that hold the Double-A batteries thanks for your help in advance

You can buy them on eBay, or companies like Jameco, Digikey, Mouser, All-Electronics, etc. They are not hard to find.
