Death Notice-- LTD is now done??

I have been told that the LTD has ended it's production and only some dealers have a few. My questions is " as a manufacturer why would I stop a production on a detector that is the best since slice bread". Now thinking the F75 first gen was out for just over 2 years and many of us have own it since it was out. NOW just in the past 3 1/2 months a new and very improved F 75 LTD was introduced. All of us that are die hard for new and improved technology sold our 1st gen to purchase the LTD. I have not one regret in doing so, but don't that make you wonder about what is now going on??? You are a company in the business of making money and producing the best technology, so why stop making a truly superior detector?? I feel that they are or already have a true replacement for the LTD just waiting to market it in the first quarter of the new year..Doesn't it make sense, to survive you need to be on top with the best that can be manufactured but then again are they going to make that move soon or wait, but in any circumstance will you and I as a good Fisher customer feel taken..by this I mean we will be buying another super detector if it is a " better then the LTD" . Yes I will buy the next one out, if it is that much advanced for I'm just that much of a Fisher fan, Relic Hunter and believer in their products, but may not like their market strategy . Since the F75 and the LTD I have dug more Relics and gold coins in camps that were said to be hunted out.. Well what say you all, it would be interesting to hear and I'm sure this site is visited by the Fisher Upper Management to read..

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see a new top of the line from Fisher in the spring.

Some of what I've read from FT people kind of alludes to something big coming soon.

And no, I won't feel taken or be upset when that happens. Why would I?

Paraphrasing something Dave Johnson said a while back, the world doesn't stop when you buy a detector.

It's going to take one heck of a detector to top the LTD, but if they don't have it already I'm sure they're working on it.

the new breed of detectors are going to be like computers..... they are pretty much out of date by the time you open the box...... sure there will be those that have the older machines and learn everything about them but by far and large as consumers we generally want the new shinny one that may only go a bit deeper but since it's new and we will get more depth we all gotta have one..... i got my f-75 within weeks of release, i was the 2nd one to get one from our local dealer...... boy did i hate it,,,,, i wanted my mxt back in a bad way..... now i refuse to let go,,,,,i have exercised a bit of self control in not buying the ltd..... i figured as you were saying if it was a limited edition they must have something already in the works better then it.....guess we will have to wait and see,,,,, it's going to take something truly special to get my f-75 out of my hands,,,,, only time i put it down is at DIV to use my TDI, please say fishers is working on a competitively priced pulse unit as well!!!!!!

We'll definitely see their new boost and cache mode technology incorporated into a newer release.

I suspect the new LTD owners were in reality "beta testers" for this new technology, and so far it seems to be well received.

A new flagship could eliminate the batteries under the armrest and drop the BC, PF modes. The DE and JE modes would probably still be retained for those special cases where depth isn't important (Honey, I lost my earing in the back yard playing with our son!) I wouldn't be surprised if there was NO performance increase over the LTD.

I agree, the BC mode is completely and utterly USELESS. I understand the T2 does a pretty good job with bottlecaps, but the F75 LOVES :inlove: them :ranting:

I disagree on the PF mode though, it has it's place. I'd like to see the next gen flagship with multifreq and better EMI handling, although I do feel that the F75 LTD, with a few exceptions, does pretty well with EMI at the EMI laden sites I hunt (certainly better then my F70). Someone posted that they put an aluminum box inside their ID Edge housing to cover the circuit board and they never had a problem with EMI again.

"limited" offers are how R&D try to get as many people as possible to try something in the shortest period of time. They read these forums and it helps them what to decide to use in the next design by our feedback. Fast foods are famous for that. Expect the new generation of detectors to have those things that were positive and not the things that were not well received. It's a smart move on their part, and lets us get a tickle of things to come.

The Boost mode is a huge improvement; no other change was needed to truely call it another model.

I have the f75 not the f75 limited and have been following some of the posts since it came out(the ltd) and have only seen the two changes mentioned, thats why I asked. minelab called the SE the SE pro when they upgraded the coil, that was the only change and your correct, once change is all it takes. I was wondering if there was something I missed on the ltd being an upgrade.

I agree 100% ,i holding on to my f75 ,no ltd holiday special for me,watch out for the new machine this spring !!!!!!!

Nice find Mr. Jerry....Enjoy !!! Jim keep me posted when you get out with yours..

I honestly don't know how you can take a new detector just setting there and saying My turn My turn, take me take me. I would have at least snuck it out to my Coin Garden. You have a heck of a lot of will power my friend. I hope you really like it. It is a lot quieter then my F75 and I just love that. Be careful when you use the 5" coil cause when you are in Boost (BP) and you crank it up to a sen of 70 your 5" coil now becomes a 7" coil 8 and 10"s out. If I am in the iron trash I have to keep it turned down to around 50 and 60 so I don't get such a wide footprint. I posted up some depth differences in BP all metal when you play with the threshold. PM me and let me know what you think of the LTD. I love mine. Later Bud, :D: :D: Jerry aka Tinfoil

Jerry, UPS dropped the LTD off, my wife got home just about the same time and I have not seen the box since. However, she told me it was a Christmas present, not a pre-Christmas present. Just two days to go. Hey, thanks for the tips and I will be PM'ing you for more. HH jim tn

You must not read this forum...one thing is the air gap you can go over over growen ground and get up to five inches that you can't get on the F75 and then it enlongates the sound of fringe targets that the F75 doesn't do..It really is another tool that make the F75 better. Is it worth the money I had the money saved and it has paid off.
