Well I got up, read the posts, went to the coinstar, 24.10 ...hit a few spots for a few hours, 34 coins, 1956d wheat, 1.6 g little 925 ring that sounded like a zinc...Its still great weather up here. Unbelievable!
I've got the waders in the truck just in case I feel like getting in the big Lake if the wind goes offshore and I find a nice blowout. I still cant manage the F70 with any sens higher than 75 and any thresh except -3ish...it chirps and squawks like blank! Set with sens 60ish, and a -3 thresh, the thing really rocks right along quite nicely!

Mud is that with your 11" coil? Try your standard coil see if does the same thing. When I think about it. It would be noisy no matter what settings if the coil was bad. That was the only trouble I had with my F70. Bad 11" coil.
Nice finds. It is a great season. Really enjoying the extra days of detecting. I run my F70, sens@70 and thres@-3 , 3 tones, disc@20 and I use the 6" coil almost all the time.
It is 38 degrees here and got out and found another 37 coins. One dog tag. Ground is so soft that when I get down on my knee the digger goes all the way down to the hilt. .HH.....Z

Yeah Zeek, still running the 11. Nice job today on your finds! I am sure the coil is fine, or I wouldn't be finding dink...I do need to get a 5, as well as a new set of headphones. I have been running your settings except for the DP tones, and the 1 disc, 1 notch. Jim, this is a poor way to try to get an ounce, one gram at a time, but hey, any silver is OK by me!! Thanks Elton, I'll stay at it until I cant! NO snow at all, and the ground is thawed, so it looks like at least another week in the dirt.

Hey Mud, I can't understand why you can't set your sensitivity any higher then 75 and the threshold higher then -3 if there is not to many power lines around, Sometimes I have to have my disc higher then 4 or lower then 19 in order to set the power up a little higher and the threshold higher. The threshold settings must be pretty high in order to find the deep small objects. But if you can't set up any higher then that so be it. Maybe you need to reset the default settings again and then readjust your detector to the highest settings you can without a lot of chatter. Sometimes if you have a little chatter with the coil at waist level it will quiet down when you start to sweep. I have found that i can detect everything my Explorer SE can and then some. Inside the house with my sensitivity set at 80 and threshold at 9 the detector is quiet enough to detect a dime in air out to 10 inches with my 5 inch coil and over 12 inches in air on my 11 inch DD as well as with the stock coil. I have found dimes at 9 inches on the 11 inch coil no problem. I hope this might give you some ideas.
Do you live in Michigan? I was raised in Detroit and left there when I joined the Air Force in 1950. Maybe we can get together sometime next year and do a little detecting. Have a great Christmas and a Happy new year.

I'm in West Michigan, just about 70 miles straight east of Zeek, maybe we should both run on over to his spots, and see if he missed anything:rofl:

My partner tells me that I missed coins in spots that I have dug in. I tell him that if I don't leave any for him, he won't want to go out hunting with me anymore. He tells me that his pouch is getting too heavy to carry with the coins that I am missing. Come on over and find the coins that he has missed too.
I am just out having fun. I will always be finding coins because when I follow after guys who have gone before me. They must be in a hurry and only want the good solid targets and not willing to investigate the questionable signals. And they also just don't like pennies so they disc. them out. It is hard for me to pass up those pennies. With those penny signals comes surprises also. Just don't tell them that.... HH .....Z

nice little silver on my f70 i notice when i turn the sense past 75 i get this echo in the audio it does run a little smoother with the stock coil but the 11 inch pinpoints way faster for me my standerd settings are sense 70 thres -3 three tones disc at 15 hh
