DECENT FIND AT LAST

Youngted

New member
[/b At last an outing onto my most productive field.Although it has not been ploughed only cultivated (not so good) Using the T2SE with the stock coil found two small Roman poor quality coins. But the best find a plate brooch circa 2nd Century A.D. the centre section would have had yellow enamel now faded.the pin is missing. 37mm long The small Celtic bead (Bronze) 2cm diameter These were often used as hair decoration by the Romano Celts circa 1st century A.D. could be 1st century BC at the time they would have been bright bronze.Gold ones do exist I have yet to find one.Tomorrow??

Brian, those are some quality finds mate, its nice to get out again after the harvest.

I am out both days this weekend, tomorrow on a private roman villa site and sunday on our roman trading villa site.

Good to see you posting your finds again

Looks old as heck..

I find Villa sites low in finds but the tading and settlemet sites are much better. I am luck I found a Temple site.

Brian, the roman trading villa site we are on sunday was active for 400 years so that is why its one of the best sites that i have detected on,i will agree that a private roman villa does not produce much, but your temple site sounds interesting.
