Deep targets and threshold

JHM

Member
I've read that a lot of deep coins will only give a null in the threshold when you first pass over them. This gives the signal to take a closer look. Will this happen when running in all metal? Or do you need some disc for this to work?

It will work in all metal. And it's not necessarily a "null", but a break in the threshold. Which MAY be a null or SEEM to be a null but in fact is the machine trying to signal. But if it's too deep or you don't hit it right it can be confused with a null. Hopefully upon that further inspection you coax a better signal out of it. Using this method is MOST effective when in all metal, as if you have some disc going what you might be hearing could in fact be a target you've discriminated out. So running dics in that case would defeat the whole "threshold as a tool" thing.

I tried it in all metal and I think it worked. It seem that all metal or the least disc I can get by with is the way to go.
