DeepTech can capitalize on Tesoro's Demise

Findmall shut down the Tesoro sub-forum, something is going on at Tesoro........................
Tesoro guys are feeling lost. I made a quick post suggesting DeepTech as an alternative beep and dig machine(s).
Here's an opportunity for DT, as suggested in the past, put out a US detector with expanded disc range.
Time for DT to stop thinking about it. And if possible, a smaller control housing. Get it done.

Yup, in a Tejon size control box which is smaller than the DT units and just a bit bigger than umax units. Place the battery pack under the arm like it is now. Offer a concentric coil option.

I still like to see the Vista Gold in such a smaller package as above at 14khz with the expanded disc range with the depth that meets or exceeds the Tejon. Then if possible keep the price in line with what Tesoros were selling for. Think full fledged Tesoro fans right now feel betrayed by their lack of communication with Tesoro owners as a whole..................

I won't buy another current Tesoro, would surely entertain buying another DT if is was similar to mentioned above.

well to me the control box is fine the way it is not a big deal to me but i'd love to see a machine built like the golden umax a park machine and I think they would have a winner gaining another side of a bigger fan base..............Plemen Roshkov he is a very intelligent man I know he could build something of this caliber!

Well, if deeptech is going to build a machine to compete with tesoro, it better be top quality, have a life time warranty...and be built in USA... Otherwise, why not just get a Tesoro?
Even if Tesoro goes under, I already have enough of 'em to last me many years, and enough have been made and sold, that they're easy to get if I want more. I hope deeptech does well, but can they be better than my Tesoros...?

Little mistake, dear Amcjavelin . For the last five years on the market are: Vista GOLD, RELIC, MINI,MINI german edition, SMART, SPRITE, MINI MAX, WARRIOR and SMART PLUS.
Interesting thread here the last days Read all. And all your recommendations, not from this topic only,are reported to Plamen Rashkov.
However,what I've always wondered,is: what happens with lifetime warranty in some situations ?

Think a 5 year warranty is plenty, these days not sure how many owners of new detectors keep them more than 5 years.
Usually they get an itch to try something new every year and sell off what they bought the year before.
I think a 5 year transferable warranty may keep resale value high. Might be a bit more attractive.

Limited Lifetime warranties maybe to the original owner?

well in the past Tesoro has honered the life time warranty to the original owner only but had made some exceptions depending on who you spoke with over the phone and they would do a complete check over and sometimes there was a bill and sometimes not but always had been written as the original owner had the lifetime warranty that was my take now anyone is welcome to correct me if i'm wrong on this also to Rosi the RG-1000 that started all for me those years ago

Our lifetime warranty covers defects in material and workmanship for as long as it is owned by the original purchaser. The warranty excludes batteries, damage caused by leaky batteries, cable breakage due to flexing, wear of the searchcoil housing, and leakage caused by the condition of water seals on underwater detectors. Also excluded are instruments which have been abused, altered, or repaired by an unauthorized party. If you are not the original owner, there is a $50.00 fee to evaluate your metal detector. This fee covers inspection, calibration, coil tuning, and return shipping. If there will be and further charges to repair your detector, you will be contacted with a cost estimate prior to work being started.

Tesoro , Deeptech doesn't matter to me both are half a world away , make a light machine with disc that knocks out tabs as in accepting zinc and up and a cleansweep bigfoot type coil sign me up today

Well, I don't think Deeptech ever intended to be in competition with Tesoro, why would they?

Also, I don't enjoy seeing "Tesoro is going under" talk. Personally, I feel like if Tesoro were struggling, we should all be sad about it...

In reality, Deeptech makes a very generic detector for the European market, a style that so many other companies in eastern Europe make... A machine that gets deep and has good recovery speed and can grunt on iron.
Look at Detech, Mikron, Golden Mask, Pirate... The list goes on to even lesser known makes coming from the same region, all the same design with similar control boxes in most cases, limited disc, deep with good recovery, and little to no presence in the USA. Deeptech is the only one that currently has anything resembling a presence in the USA. These are all very capable beep and dig machines.

Beep and Dig is far more common in Europe, and far more accepted than it is here.

If one of these companies picked up on the idea of a detector for the American market -
- Had a service center in the USA, and really stood behind their products.
- Expanded their disc to be in the same ballpark with Tesoro.
- Priced in the $300 - $600 range.

I would be excited to see that, but, I don't know if there's a strong enough market for them here to make it a good idea for whichever company tries it. People scoff at Tesoro for not being "modern". A tiny portion of an already small market favors beep and dig machines.

I feel like Deeptech could just make an ID meter that was light weight that connected to their existing machines. Much like the meter for the Soveigns from Minelab and I would be happy. Then you would have a true coin and jewelry hunting machine. Who cares if it has an iron and only one nonferrous tone.
