After some research the Deeptech machines seem to be potentially great relic machines. I have been looking hard at the Warrior. I Currently use a Tejon and TDI for my relic hunting. My question is how good is the disc/tone ID at depth? My ground varies quite a bit form place to place but the biggest problem I have with most VLF detectors is the work great at telling iron from lead, etc, to about 7 inches....then it gets hard to tell what is what. I only care to be able to ID nails and smaller iron at a better depth than my Tejon, which I am very happy with. But these Deeptechs seem to be the perfect relic hunters. So guys, what kinda depth are you still getting accurate Ferrous/non Ferrous ID with these machines? Thanks!
 
Why is it so hard to get opinions or info on these machines? My original post is well over a week old and not one person has anything good to say about these machines? Not a good sign....
 
Hi, unfortunately, never used Tejon to be possible to answer on your question. From what I saw and read - is one of the best Tesoro units.
Moreover, I think that I'm not exactly the person who must do comparison with foreign equipment.
Don't think that "not one person has anything good to say about these machines".
Or I am wrong, guys ?
On your question must answer somebody who used some of our units, Tejon - too.
Otherwise, if you use Facebook, there are some groups for DeepTech's units - you will receive maybe answer more quickly.

[size=large]The Tejon is an a good machine and has good depth. I have found that the DeepTechs, as a rule are very good at depth to distinguish ferrous from non-ferrous targets. As with any machine, there is a point when the machine doesn't have enough information to call the target correctly. The DT units are deeper than most detectors out there and excel with a processor that can work exceptionally well in iron. This is especially true of the Vista Gold, crazy fast when it comes to seeing both ferrous and non-ferrous targets at the same time. The audio is "stacked" in that you can hear, or at least I can, both targets at the same time.
While the DTs excel in depth, the ability to "see" what others have missed by masking is where the DTs do exceptionally well. I have been most successful in areas that have been "hunted out."

The biggest difference is that the Gold runs at 25 khz and the Smart runs at 15 khz. With the Super Six coil, either is deadly in iron....Depending on the composition of the target, that will have a lot to do with which detector will be deeper. The processor in the Gold is crazy fast in iron. IMHO, that is where the Gold excels the other DTs. I have used a RELIC and it is deeper than the other machines but it isn't as fast. Slowing the Super Six down to a slow swing on any of the machines will produce masked targets.

So Richard, do you think the Gold is a better choice than the Warrior for general relic hunting both in open fields and old iron infested home sites....?

This is Tex Kinsey. I have dug in Virginia for over 30 years. I have used a Tejon and the Smart, Rg1000 and the Gold. In Cumberland county the ground is severe and all I hunt know is iron infested sites.The detector I would choose is the Smart Plus. You can control the iron sound so no constant ear bashing. The Vista's have faster recovery speed. You also have 2 tone id unlike the Tejon. You have Culpeper covered with your pulse. Check out the Smart+. Good luck with your decision.
 
I have the Vista Gold and the RG 1000 V2. 25khz and 12 khz machines. Both are great. The Gold being the higher khz machine will hit on items so small that it can be frustrating to work in extremely trashy sites at times. That being said, it is still amazing the depth that it can ID a nonferrous target at. The iron volumn is a true blessing in carpets of nails around old home sites. Recovery speed is second to none in my opinion. The RG 1000 V2 is a bit more settled ( not quite as talkative ) in mineralized ground,than the Gold. Slightly slower recovery speed, but not by much, and a bit deeper on coin sized objects. Unlike the Vista Gold it has no iron volumn however. I have used a Tejon and although a good machine, I would say the Vista's all have more depth with superior target ID. The TDI I also own, and you are well covered in highly mineralized areas with it. A Vista and a TDI is a deadly combination for most all relic hunting situations....Stuart
