DeepTech Vista Gold Gain and 137 targets dug in one outing!

So went out yesterday for a full days digging, first time Ina while for me and got stuck in with the VGG and the HP Elliptical Coil... talking pigeon steps and keeping the Coil flowing consistent and steady I managed to pull 137 targets.

The New HP Coil attached to the VGG is a great stable combo and was able to run everything flat out with the settings, but my knees sure feel it today

Hey Ziggy, that's a fantastic haul for one outing !. I just dug a large caliber lead bullet exactly like yours in the R/H pic., with my 'Gold'. Any idea what that might be out of.....?. Cheers, Tim.

What a fantastic day Ziggy. I have one question , could you or someone else on the fourm explain the relationship between the sensitivity and the gain when setting up the detector to a specific site. Thanks

Thank you, the coins are very worn, I'm guessing from the Georgian era..... for me they never come up good for me unless Silver,

I've been detecting this field for around 4 months now a good few times a week, but this is a area of the huge field that contains a lot or iron that spands around 2 acres, so I really slowed the sweep speed and pace and focused really hard, the site is night hawked also.

Will try and explain quick and easy.

Gain is overall power
Sensitivity is the cats whiskers
When used both correctly it equals versatility

Want depth then run Gain as high as possible for every site except on very mineralised ground, in the case of mineralised ground start with minimal Gain and high sensitivity and keep dropping sensitivity until the machine is stable, then slowly introduce Gain while dropping Sensitivity, keep checking ground audio till you've adjusted both for the optimal performance achieved in that field.

As for clean land, mineralised free..... want deeper large objects without finding little shards ? ..... then reduce sensitivity
Want tiny items without digging deep targets?.... then reduce Gain and keep sensitivity high.

Want the best of both..... run both as high but reduce evenly if false audio feedback occurs.

That's one thing I Can't stress enough on the Gain..

A Lot of machine's do fine on Round objects even in denser iron but get mixed up on weird shapes in iron or bad soil or even depth in good soil at times as it plays weird tricks on eddy currents...But not on the gain it loves a toe tap or suspender clip, spurs or in your neck of the woods a Roman fibula as well as a coin or button...Something to be said for that audio clarity it provides on all targets... VERY REACTIVE MACHINE!!
