Haven't been to Bend in years but they've had a population explosion there over the past several years so the schools and parks should be prime unless everybody and their dog has a metal detector. It's a nice part of Oregon. You'll like it. Course most of Oregon is picture post card beautiful.
If you're into fishing don't forget your fishing pole. Some prime trout fishing holes down there. Enjoy.
