as with any make or model, a lot will depend on the type of site you're hunting, the time allotted to the search, and your patience level. For example, I know quite a few hobbyists are very casual searchers, only getting out once or twice a week or even per month. They don't take the time to really learn their detector, and they get tired of common trash in a hurry.
