Delta 4000 Finds a V Nickel at the Beach!

Today my Delta 4000 and I went to Playland Beach in Rye, NY. Absolutely gorgeous day and I pulled out a 1901 V nickel from about 7 inches down. I was in All Metal 2, sensitivity was 10, full volume, wearing headphones and hunting in dry sand. I forget what the VDI was except that it was reading in the Zinc range. Other finds were trash and clad.. no jewelery, but not bad for my first time on a beach :) Funny to think that a rookie (me) finds a coin that probably has been lying in that sand for a hundred years - on a beach that gets pounded by detectors every year!

PS obviously it's very corroded - I had to use my ophthalmologist Dad's slit lamp to read the date!
