anyone have a 4000 may be able to help me. I just bought this unit and am a beginner. My 4000 just locks up, the Target ID may show any value from 40 to 80, and the category will show anything. Also the depth will show and me locked. It just locks up and stays that way for 30 sec. to 2 min. I can move over anything or point to the sky it stays froze. The battery hot. Somebody help me// my buddy bought a White's at a garage sale for $75.00 and is kicking my butt

Delta 4000 freezes up

If the battery is getting hot, it's not the only thing getting hot. I recommend getting it back to the factory for warranty repair as soon as possible. There's an 800 number but sorry, I don't remember it. Regular number is 915 633-8354 and ask for Teknetics customer service for a return authorization.

I would go with the advice you got from Dave Johnson, Chief Designer, First Texas Products & Fisher Research Labs, i.e. "ask for Teknetics customer service for a return authorization.".

Yea it will on any target. Even with volume like 7 or 8. Its just on big close targets mostly. Smaller close go into the warrning part and not freeze.

It doesent do it always. If I had a choice again. I would still get it. Its depth and speed. Is unmatched in my opinion. In its price range. Its just a little issue. Like it hasent done it in 3 days hunting. So im not realy worried. Again. I still highly recommend it to anyone who asks for a sub $300 unit.
