Well after ranting about this MD in another post, I went to a very clean park in a housing tract, where I've only detected in the play area before. This time I decided to try a grass area and in about an hour, I found some decent clad($1.59). With only three false sig.
Now if this MD would perform this way everywhere, I could be a very happy hunter.

Also want to note that, I started getting solid hits on ALUM. and dug up nickels??

I guess it's a bit unusual to ID aluminum but find nickels. Does the nickel read correctly in an air test? It may be the soil or another object is altering the response. It's also possible your detector is a bit out of sorts, and the air test should help determine which it is.

ED, I've only performed above ground garden tests, not air tests. Each time the nick. reads 57-58, which is where it should be. So maybe it is the soil and or the fertiliser make-up. I think I'll start digging the Alum. sig. now ...Thanks
