Delta 8" vs 10" DD

detectingMO

New member
Anyone have experience with both coils on the delta? Just ordered a new delta for my wife. Trying to decide if I should keep the 10" DD or the 8". I already have the 11" DD and 5" DD with my omega. Seems like 10" DD would be the one to keep but it doesn't give a lot of variance in size compared to the 11" DD. I have very low mineralization. Looking for depth, EMI, Target ID comparisons.

My Delta is currently in the hospital, but the 11dd hit several coins in my yard where the 8" had been many times before . I would guess the 10dd, even better in trash. I would love to try the 5"dd you have at one of the parks. I would hang on to the 8"pinpointing is easy, When your using the 5dd on your Omega the 8 may be handy in a bottlecap infested site. I always ran my Delta vol on 10 sense 10-11. I hope this helps ya a little.

also DetectingMo, ID numbers very close to Omega, 11" id more detailed, I could tell a silver .25 [ 89-93] clad .25 [86-88] The 10" pretty close I would guess. 8" seemed less sensitive to EMI but the DD seemed to make it a completely different detector [better] at least for me anyhow. I hope your wife enjoys her Delta.

Definitely seems 10" dd is the perfect marriage of 11" and 5". But since I already have those I'm thinking keeping the 8" give me most variety overall. I know the 10" is highly regarded and some may say sell the all others and just run both with a 10"! Thanks for the help. I definitely don't need to keep both and will be selling one brand new next week.
