Detecting a Cyclone cut beach

Snoopy36

New member
Last weekend I posted some pics of a couple of silver coins I found at a local beach that was 'cut' by Cyclone Yasi. I went back there and spent about two hours and found a couple more goodies. Here's what the beach looked like. Check out the short video (photo slideshow) of the hunt.

My video camera has died hence the photo slideshow.

Cheers

Great Finds! Im interested in how you cleaned up those coins so well. Whats your secret? Hoover.

Here you go Hoover. Here is how I clean my coins. Please note that cleaning coins will absolutely devalue them so I never touch any 'rare' or key date coins :)

Hi Snoopy,
Thanks so much for such a comprehensive answer to my question. Fantastic presentation! Ive been lucky enough to find a local park where the predecimal coins just keep on coming,so your methods will be put to good use.
Thanks again.

Have just finished cleaning a large batch of silvers with your techniques and Im very happy with the result. Have also put in an online order for the wax so I can start on the pennys.
Keep up the great presentations!
