Detecting gold rings tips

Best thing I can tell you is hunt, hunt, hunt, and dig, dig ,dig. I have have fround about 200 rings in the time I have detected and that is about 15 years and rings come in at a lot of VDI's . Silver ring are ease to find, they come in at the higher vdi's but gold is the one that can come in almost at iron to 70's . Dig those pull tabs, foil, bottle caps. All that trash is where rings come in at. Do the place that has most people at play or work, they are the ones that loose the most. Good Luck

Tips on how to find them or the best sites to find them?

Detecting gold rings kind of reverses coin hunting. Most of the rings I've found fell in the pull tab and below range, which is also the can slaw and gum wrapper range. It's a lot of work, but you have to dig it all.Sand seems to be the best producer for not only rings, but other jewelry as well.

always search gates, or entryways to fields outside of doors, under shade trees , around water fountains, and small ponds, as disgruntled women throw away rings into them after a relationship goes afoul.

Local social club about 10 years ago. Sometime after midnight a newly engaged couple got into a (disagreement) Guy couldn't take it anymore, headed for the door. She rushed after him , flinging the ring. Next morning their out there looking for it. I got a call, and gave it a good going over. No luck. Couple of months later at a nearby club. Young guy comes in, set's the bar up. Said he was cleaning the bed of his pickup truck out. Found this Gold ring, that he sold for scrap. He also frequents the first club.
There was nothing to do but enjoy the beer.

Thanks for all the help. I have found 119 gold rings. But about all in or near water. Not many on just land hunting.....Jack
