Detecting in the Rain

Hey everyone. Well, it's looking like there is some rain coming today.I want to get out this afternoon....actually detecting the rain will not bother me at all. HOWEVER, I'm curious about a few things. Is it safe to take my 550 out in the rain if I have a cover for my main housing unit, and will detecting in the rain have any strange effects on my readings, etc?! Thanks guys.

If I were you I would still use a clear plastic bag under the cover up. The wet ground will increase the sens. a little but no major changes.
