Detecting Portugese Beaches

Am heading for the Sun in mid January, Spain & Portugal and was wondering wether to pack my Explorer II, Do they allow detecting on the beaches in the Poruguese Algarve & Spain ?

In Spain its not a problem to detect the beaches but not in Portugal, its strictly forbidden.

As far as I know detecting on spanish beaches is no longer permitted. I have read about UK guys having their machines confiscated by the spanish cops....please be careful and find out more....maybe fredUK will be able to tell you more.
