Detecting Sulphide ore deposits

Is it possible to detect sulphide ore with a PI? I've been doing some research on locating "Pocket Gold" AKA Supergene Enriched Gold and the only electronic method givin was for detection was Induced Polarization. Seems to me if IP would work, so should PI!

Ordinary iron pyrites usually has electrical conductivity too low to detect with a metal detector, but some other sulfides (esp. copper sulfide) are often detectable, but only at a depth of a few inches. For detecting a deposit not already in evidence to the naked eye on the surface, you need real geophysical equipment. In geophysical mapping it is usually advantageous to use several different methods, because this aids in interpretation of the data.
