Detection pattern

Should you get the same depth the full length of the 11" DD LTD coil or will it be more like a triangular detection pattern?

Bottom is closer.. though you do lose depth on the edges... though you will also get a signal an inch or so outside edge coil . place a coin on the ground.. you will hear it before the coil goes over it..spose this is the same with any coil really.

is a good example everyone seems to see.

Still have not seen a good answer about the pattern of field for the F series 11 inch DD coil. It seems to be a different animal in that it pin points in the center while every other DD I have pin points best off the center of the tip or heal of the coil where the D's come together.

Maybe there is some actual instrumented test data that can be shared or presented about the approximate shape of the field without stepping on proprietary information.
