If a guy needed to send his detector in for repairs, could the manufacturer adjust certain aspects of a detectors sensitivity?
I have the delta 4000 and i was wondering if the A1 mode could be adjusted slightly to make it more friendly.

I am sure that during a check up they would make certain all modes and features functioned properly. As for the A1 All Meta mode being "unfriendly," I'd guess that you lower the coil towards the ground and it sounds off. If so, that simply suggests that the A1 mode has a preset Ground Balance that is positive enough to deal with some very challenging ground. If so, the A2 All Metal mode might perform a lot better as lowering the search coil (or raising it abruptly from the ground) ought to remain relatively smooth. The reason is that the A2 All Metal mode relies on a preset GB that might be closer to what you would have adjusted for if manually set.

The two All Metal modes do work differently, and I try to use A1 when possible, but if not, I opt for A2 and enjoy the hunt.
