Detectorpro pocket probe.

Any of you out there tried that Detectorpro pocket probe? I just got mine and from my air bench test it really seems to have a good depth range. Just waiting for the snow to melt so I can try it out in the field. I was going to try and attach it to me Explorer XS, but got too much interference, so I'll just use the belt clip it came with and keep it on my left side away from XS. It came with velcro to attach the probe to the control unit, but I got some 5/8" plastic spring clips and epoxied them to the unit which should be more handier and out last the velcro. Wish I knew how to take a picture and show you what it looks like. HH.

I use it with my Elite and would not even go out without it. I love it!

I've had mine for a while, and it works great. A definite time-saver. But I keep mine in a pouch to avoid catching the cord on branches and brambles. I've damaged the connection where the cord meets the probe end more than once. Avoid stretching or grabbing the cord - always grab the hardened part of the probe.
The device emits a slow up-and-down whine when the battery is running low.
You will like it for checking the sides and base of the hole as well as finding the target in the pile. For a shallow target, you can use it to pinpoint. Just make sure you move your detector coil far away and tune it each time you go to use it.

Thanks Mike and Fred. I will keep that in mind. I did notice that there is quite a void between the cord and where it goes into the probe. I might squeeze a little silicone in there. I needed another probe like a hole in my head, but this one is suppose to go deep and that's what I'm training my ears for, those deep ones. I have been using a Tinytec probe, but it's sometimes hard to find the coin in my plug with it. Thanks again. HH

Don,
That case for the probe looks like it works out well. I may have to check out the Ace hardware store near my place and see what they have. HH.
