In the parks in my town you are only allowed to use a probe/screwdriver to retrieve targets. In my case that means nothing deeper than 3-4". So, in order not to be tempted by deeper targets I set up a program to only go shallow. I named it Skimmer. Basically everything you do to get more depth, do just the opposite.....Sens 80-85, TX 1, disc 25, silencer 3, reactivity 5, freq 55, 9" coil. But it still hits deeper targets. Amazing how difficult it is to make the Deus not work well. LOL.

it is hard to "dumb down" the Deus.

Move

I assumed he meant for ME to move somewhere that doesn't have stupid rules.

Look at using the AUDIO RESPONSE function - dial it down to 1 and ignore the faint signals . . . should get you close to what you are looking to do. Several people I have worked with use this to look for recently lost items where they do not want to waste time on deep targets
