Deus Fast

Well-known member
Today is the first time I have ran Deus Fast. The yard that I was hunting didn't have much trash, but a lot of iron. What is the best way to quite down the Deus when in Fast mode ? I turned down the sen. but didn't help a lot. I tried tracking in GB. to see if that would help. the Deus did ok in the front yard but the back was so bad I could hardly here the tones . What would you do ? I went back over part that I did in other modes and found two or three target that I missed. Thanks for any help.

Hello,
I'm as far from an "expert" on the Deus as you can get, as I'm new to it. But I think you can turn the iron volume setting down to 1 and it may help, hopefully some of the pros with this machine will chime in, if I'm wrong please excuse me, as I've been using the CTX since it came out and I know it well, I just picked up a used Deus and am using it with my CTX to try to really clean out sites. Good luck!

Ps I ran Deus Fast the other day on a yard I knew was carpeted in iron and where I was no longer getting signals with my CTX, I got a nice great seal button and a brass suspender piece but no coins. I could hear all the iron but I was not overwhelmed with it, but I want to hear it so I can pick out the high squeaks.

Hi Bootyhunter, I have only had my Deus for about 2 mo. This is the first time I tried Fast mode. It dose let you pick out the good between the iron. When I set in Fast Deus the iron was in 3, I lowed it to 0 and still had a lot of back ground iron and other tones mixed in. I love my Deus in the 2 or so mos. I have found 6 rings and other good targets. I run a lot in basic 2 and adjust the GB. and it dose a very good job. Thanks for the reply flintstone

Hey good to hear of your success with it so far, that's great! Again I may be wrong, but if you set the iron vol to 0 you shouldn't hear the iron from my understanding, and the horseshoe icon becomes useless. If you can get a copy if Andy Sabishch's book on th Deus it is really well written. If you have it there is a section that addresses iron audio in detail. Good luck!

I don't hunt in Deus Fast but I think the stock position for the silencer is -1 for Deus Fast. To quiet things down I would raise the Silencer to 0 or 1. There is a depth trade of with the use of the silencer but at the level of 0 or 1 it will be negligible. Good luck

Sounds like it may be an EMI issue - it's THE only bad thing about the Deus.....no real solution to it.

Lower the Freq, 12k is better than 17k and 8k should be even quieter...
And put in the ground notch... as well as the high notch 97-99 (this will only
negatively impact high targets in 17k the lower Freqs are not negatively affected
you also have greater separation in VDI in the lower frequencies making the
targets more easily identifiable for the machine, and thus your ears)
EMI only messes badly with certain Frequencies... don't know why everyone
is so stuck on 17k ... it's best for small targets (less than dime) and gold.... and
can miss larger coins at depth.

Thanks All for the replys. I used it yesterday and it worked ok . it must of been EMI or something. I will go back there and see what it dose again.
