Diamagnetic property of gold

wyndham

New member
A Question for Eric et al, I have read that gold is classified as a diamagnetic metal. I was wondering is this a factor in inducing the eddy current into a gold target and more so the resulting mag flux from the eddy current back to the RX coil? Could this play any part in either some nuggets that are porous not giving a RX signal or where the target nulls out the response in some PI's.
If this is a factor how is this dealt with? Wyndham

Thought I would bump to see if anyone has a thought on this. It may not be even a consideration in design but just wished to know. Wyndham
