Did some mudpuppy and zeekeys coin popping this afternoon.

Had just enough of a rain shower to settle the dust so grabbed the F 75 LTD as it still had the 11dd coil on as I wanted to sweep on and around a soccer field for a while. I can't pop the coin numbers as mud and z can, but was able to sniff out a 925 marked silver ring, a couple of pieces of junk jewelry and one wheat cent of yet un-known date. The silver ring was about 3" and read 73-74. I had been using My Omega for the last several old coin hunts and forgot how much I love nickels sounding off with a high tone for coin shooting. I sure hope the next best Fisher has a high tone tone setting for nickels. I ran the LTD a little tame today. Sen 70, disc 7, de mode and 3h tones. HH jim tn

Nice hunt Jim. You did real well for first try. Proud of you...Keep up the good work. Clad stabbing is different. The secret to clad stabbing is the sequence. This is my technique: 1. First the screwdriver comes out to mark the target. 2. Than the lesche digger comes out to help get me get down than steps 3. 4. 5...Always remember your screwdriver and Lesche digger are stuck in the ground in front of you so you don't have to go looking for them. And getting up reverse. But always the same sequence and you will be surprised how fast the target is in your pouch and you are on your way to the next target. There is no wasted movements or deciding what to do next? Or where something is??? You just flow through the movements. It isn't a race it is just easy flowing movements. Kind of like a slow dance while you are detecting. I even swing the detector that way. Nice pace and will be able to detect longer on a hunt. Enough!!!
I know you know all about this stuff. I use sens@65, disc@20, thresh@-3, 3H tones.
Thanks for putting up with me.....Z

Hey, you really killed the nickles! Nice work on the ring too...Zeek is really onto something with the nice, easy, smooth sequence...very low impact and relaxing, yet a guy is really racking up shallow targets very quickly, which should make for a better overall hunter in the end. His settings would make for a very comfortable hunt, with no coins or rings escaping.

I agree on the nickel high tone. It would be a very nice feature of the Fisher to allow tone adjustments for any group of ID numbers.
