I used the Viper coil. There were so many signals that I turned my iron audio down to one. I used my same set-up. Single Frequency at 25K and sensitivity just below maximum. I am going out again this week, and am going to swtch to the 5 x 8 coil, as there is so much iron junk in the river that I want better separation.

Got out highbanking for gold yesterday. I often times bring along a metal detector. I had about an hour left until official sunset, so I headed out in the river, and dug all the high signals. Kind of crazy to dig up so many baseball medallions.

Here's the finds in the river gave up. I love those old square spikes. Their probable origion is shown below.

Edmonton was a busy place in the late 1700's - early 1800 due to the gold rush up to Alaska and Yukon. Edmonton was a supply depot for shovels, horses, pickaxes, whiskey, food etc,. We have flour gold throughout the North Saskatchewan River and many huge gold dredges were built to get it out of the gravel.

Here's the gold I got after 2 hours of using my highbanking. I just love being outside at this time of year. Cooler, no bugs, fantastic colors and great appetite!
