I and part of the detecting club met up in Tappen N.D. today to go and find some relics from the Battle Of Big Mound. There were around 20 or so members to hunt the open fields for relics. Me and Dale went to try and locate the camp sites but couldn't find them until we were leaving. I guess we will have to try and hunt them this fall or next spring. All of the members found relics including minnie balls, musketballs, pieces of cannonballs,a few pieces of arrowheads and even 2 Wheat Pennies and an Indian Head. The Wheats I got and were the 1917 and the 1919-d and Jon Slusser of Jamestown,N.D. found the Indian dated 1908. I think Me and Dale were the only ones not to find any bullets but Dale found 2 pieces of arrowheads. We left around 2:00pm and went looking for coins in the neighboring towns. It was tough going all day long but we managed to find a few keepers so the day wasn't a total loss. At least we got out and spent some quality time with the other members since the only time we do this is during our spring and fall hunts. The finds I got today were slim but better than nothing. I found a cheap Silver Plated Ring and a CCC Pin with the pin still on the back of the pin. I also found a Mercury Dime dated 1941 and a Liberty V-Nickel dated 1912. And last but not least I found 6 more Wheats dated 1917,1919-d,1945,1945-d,1955-d,and 1955-d.[attachment 25107 RingandPin.png][attachment 25108 MercandV-Nickel.png][attachment 25109 Wheats.png]
