Digger Coil LF

Wondering what depth are you getting from this coil in semi-trashy areas.
I can get about 4-6 inches and that's it.I'm thinking a larger DD coil would give me
more depth in these areas. Or would using a High Frequency coil do better?
Ground balance I'm getting is around 34 on my x-Terra 705.
I love this coil as it really makes the coins sing out but want to get some deeper signals
that might be there.
Any thoughts?

Everything is a compromise to some extent. General rule of thumb is depth should be be in the same neighborhood as coil size.
In really mild ground, where it's almost fluffy topsoil, I've gotten 8" or a little more with that coil, but 6" is more the norm.

That said, I usually run the biggest coil that the trash density allows. Too big and you lose targets to masking. Too small and it takes forever to cover any amount of ground, and deeper targets are passed over. With GB numbers in the 30's I doubt that a higher frequency would do as well, and response to coins would not be as pronounced.

The only suggestion that I have for more depth with that coil, would be to try Prospector Mode. You lose target ID, but you do gain depth.

This has been my observation also.

Thanks for the advice.
Somehow using the prospecting mode got lost in the shuffle.
Definitely will use that approach next time.
