Decided to go back to my small city park that has been good to me this year and dig everything over 4" deep. Came up with about 40 pieces of junk but also got a 45-D War Nickel (my first) and a 1942 Merc. Neither registered where you would normally expect on my 305. The nickel jumped around from 12-16-20 and the Merc was showing 24-28. I will be doing that more often. Still looking for that gold ring but I bet I will get it soon by doing this. Happy Hunting.
